Frequently Asked Questions

What is Jenerous?

Jenerous is a repository of in-depth audio interviews with leading marketers, entrepreneurs and innovators.

How did Jenerous get started?

Jenerous is the extension of a project I started in early 2006 to interview 1,000 leading “marketers, entrepreneurs and other interesting people” in order to understand podcasting. You can see the original blog post if you’re interested. I did about 110 interviews over at marketingmonger then made the jump to Jenerous to continue the project.

Who is behind Jenerous?

I (Eric Mattson) am the founder, host and producer. Jenerous.com is a result of the hard work of Big in Japan, a leading social media consultancy. The community that listens, comments, and contributes is from all over the world.

Where do you find the people to interview?

I find the interviewees in three primary places:
(1) Recommendations from my personal network
(2) My voracious consumption of media - blogs, books, magazines, websites, podcasts, etc.
(3) People pitching me to include someone (or themselves).

How can I suggest someone or myself for an interview?

Send me an email. Less hype and more substance please. I try and respond to everyone that sends me an email.

How can I subscribe to receive the interviews?

There are 4 different methods for subscribing to Jenerous: RSS, Podcatcher, iTunes, and email. If you need help deciding, I’ve written a short guide to help you.

Can I sponsor Jenerous?

Yes. More information can be found on our advertising information page.
