Puneet Gupta of ConnectBeam on Social Software in the Enterprise

One of the interesting questions hanging around the social software/media world is when and how (even if) businesses (especially large ones) are going to embrace these new technologies. In the past, I’ve done research on business adoption of social media and discussed it among past podcasts (Ynema Mangum of BMC is a notable one) but my next interviewee provides a whole new level of insight.

Puneet Gupta is CEO of ConnectBeam, a company that is bringing social software (tagging, search & networking) to the enterprise. ConnectBeam has already sold Honeywell on the idea and will be announcing some additional impressive clients in the near future.

Puneet was nice enough to chat with me about ConnectBeam’s idea, their experience selling social software to large companies, and the how the industry’s current state compares to the evolution of SFA and CRM in the 90s.
